Adult Passenger Injured in ATV Crash

Claremont, NH – On Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 5:28 p.m., the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department was notified of a single ATV crash with injury in the City of Claremont located on the Cat Hole Trail System. Claremont Fire Department, Golden Cross Ambulance, and a Fish and Game Conservation Officer responded to the scene. The riders were able to continue riding their ATV back to the trailhead to meet the awaiting safety services.

The operator was identified as Robert Byron, 41, of Manchester, NH, and the passenger was identified as Nicole Moody, 35, of Manchester NH. During the investigation, it was learned that Byron was operating the ATV through a rough section of trail when the machine hit a bump, causing Moody to be thrown from the machine and causing her to sustain serious but non-life-threatening injuries as a result. Moody was transported from the scene by Golden Cross Ambulance to be treated for her injuries.

New Hampshire Fish and Game would like to remind OHRV enthusiasts to always wear proper safety equipment and pay attention to changing trail conditions.
