NHDP Statement on Legislature’s Vote to Override Kelly Ayotte’s Veto of the Ten-Year Transportation Plan
In response to the Legislature’s vote to override Kelly Ayotte’s veto of the Ten-Year Transportation Plan, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement:
"I want to thank House and Senate Democrats for their hard work and tireless efforts to ensure our communities have the resources to invest in the critical infrastructure needed to keep our state safe and moving forward.
"Costly Kelly jeopardized federal dollars, put vital transportation projects at risk, and put public safety and New Hampshire’s economic future on the back burner with her reckless veto. If Ayotte thinks vetoing a Ten-Year Transportation Plan is the way to lead New Hampshire, she should know she’s in rare company: the last governor who vetoed the plan was failed one-term Governor Craig Benson. Come November, Kelly Ayotte will find that she has even more in common with Craig Benson than before."
